There appears to be a gross misunderstanding amongst workers, or too many lies being told them, as Americans are dumping their Unions, in exchange for,” the right to work laws,” that are being initiated by the Republican Tea Party elected governors in America.
It is not only jeopardizing the workers own jobs, but costing all of us the police and fire protection, as well as, our children the best teachers that will give them the better chance for an education, since their Unions are being eliminated as well.
It is not about the 3.2% in the loss of pay that they take immediately, by doing so, as much as the loss of accumulated pay that they will lose over time. Once they vote for “the right to work laws”, then they are back to the days when their employers can do pretty much anything from lowering their wages even further, replacing seniority, limiting or taking away benefits and pensions, or simply replacing them with someone new altogether, after they have given them years of loyalty. It isn’t that this is anything new for Corporations and for people who do not belong to Unions but it is for those who have paid into a Union in exchange for this protection. Without your Unions, you as David, are up against Goliath.
The reason that these wage drops and eventual benefit losses that will follow should concern all the rest of us, who are and have always been non-union workers, is because the Unions across America have consistently set the pay wage and standards by which the rest of us are paid. When the Unions are ran out of our States, then the safety conditions in which the Union members use to work will not only drop for them but it will drop for us as well. When their health insurance, pensions and 401ks disappear so will ours. The Unions whether we love or hate them, have been responsible for the standards under which the middle class has worked, across the board, since their appearance in the work force. The more they are depleted the lower the standards will fall for the entire middle class in America.
Sadly, because of today’s economy, I feel that people are so desperate to keep their jobs that they are willing to give up their unions, regardless of the cost to themselves, and these people know that, so are making their move now rather than later.
Perhaps it is the way in which it is being presented to the workers, and these corrupt politicians, along with the people they represent, are deliberately taking advantage of the middle class.
This is the Republicans approach to bringing jobs and change to America and to the workers, that they like to talk about on the campaign trail, while blaming OBama for the fact that he stands in their way to bring new jobs to the middle class.
Too many people In America are being taken advantage of, by these Tea Party elect politicians in America, who all appear to be pretty much corrupt, as their only goal is to eliminate the Unions altogether and to take out more money for the 1% who are already doing well at the expense to the workers.
This has gone on across Wisconsin and Ohio and what has become known as the Mid West area of America, and currently happening in Indiana. It is threatening to take Indiana from the 5th most wanted place to work down to the 50th, right along side of Mississippi.
I can promise you that the “Right to Work Laws” benefit no one but the 1% you work for at a cost to the workers, and is just another attempt to put more money in their pocket at a cost to you. By voting for the “right to work laws”, you strip yourself of your own paycheck as well as any protection now and in the future.
Somehow it seems to be escaping the main line media in America that this is taking place in all the States where these Tea Party governors were elected in 2010 to bring change to their States. I have not seen much coverage on it considering that once Americans realize, what has happened to them, then they are recalling these crooked governors in their States or voting for a referendum.
Anybody who even hears the word Tea Party Republican or “right to work laws”,should steer clear if it is in your State. They have proven that their only efforts will be to eliminate Unions at an expense to the middle class and a gain to the 1%, while they work against the workers, instead of for them, with lies that benefit them and the already wealthy 1%.
These Tea Party Republicans apparently are laying awake at nights, to dream up new and different ways to screw the workers, at the benefit to those who are profiting off of the workers.
Beware Americans, as they will be coming our way and making the effort to say what we want to hear as lies become easy for them, the more they open their mouths, and 2012 will be no different. They bring their own brand of change to us, at an expense to those of us who have already been drained by them.
Until the Republican Party wants to change or asks for our help to eliminate the Tea Party and right-wing conservatives from their ranks, there will not be a single one of them that will bring change that will benefit the middle class. That we can bank on, and it may be the only thing left for the middle class to bank on, by the time they get done with their “ways to bring jobs to the workers” programs.
Sadly, I feel that the Republican Party will not be able to work amongst themselves much less for us, until they clean out their own rank and file. They represent nothing more than the,’same old same old.’ The fact that they continue to blame everything on Barack OBama make them no different from 6-year-old children on a school play ground. Those of us, who are aware of the fact that blame is nothing more than refusal to take responsibility for their own short comings and doing nothing to really change it, only means they feel justified in their own ineptitude and corrupt lack of leadership, for those of us who elect them to office.
The part we can be certain they will not change, from Tea Party members, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum, to the so-called conservatives Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, and any and all Republican senators that need to be replaced in our own States, is that they will continue to preach at us about family values, while they rob the middle class blind.
The fact that they deny that they are above us and are bigots, even though they represent the same, every time they think they are safe in their own environment, make them even more dangerous, to the welfare of the middle class Americans.
It only took me watching one caucus to know it smells like nothing but the same lies are on the horizon, for the Republican Party.
There will always be those Conservatives and Tea Party Republicans who can point to a corrupt person or people in the Democratic Party, as well. And trust me they do repetitively. As I have said 33 Democrats were against OBama,(Ben Nelson of Nebraska has since dropped out of running again, as I predicted on my 1/20/2010 post) when OBama tried to gain healthcare for the middle class.
The biggest difference in the two Parties is the insignificant numbers in the Democratic Party who would defeat the Middle class as versus the entire Republican Party from State wide, as well as in Washington, who are 100% in collusion together, in favor of these new efforts to lower the quality of life for the middle class, as versus the majority of Democrats who are fighting for us.
We, the middle class, should all be concern,of these new jobs programs being proposed by the Republicans in blanket force, and if and when, it will spell the demise of the middle class.
God Bless you all who feel that you have to pick from the field of Republicans, when you are wise enough to know the difference. It may be time to switch over to the Democrats and take a break for a while. Re-elect Barack OBama in November.
